2/17 — “Five Wishes”

“Can we talk?”  Starting the conversation about end of life planning with either aging parents or adult children is challenging. This opening session, with Susan Carpenter, Behavioral Gerontologist, aims to give you information and skills to make that talk easier and more fruitful.

2/24 — Living Wills & Advance Directives

“I’m scared!”  Attorney Ed Lowe will help take away some of the fear and anxiety about creating those vital documents we all need to have but avoid out of a denial of death.

3/2 — Hospice & Palliative Care

“What happens if…?”  Susan Daniels, Hospice Program Director at Middlesex Health, will describe the ministry of hospice and palliative care should you or a loved one be in need of special care or become the care-giver of a patient.

3/9 — Processing through Art

“Help me show what I’m feeling!”  Chaplain and artist Dan Stypa will offer several simple ways to use art to help you express your emotions as you live through your pain and grief.  Don’t worry, you don’t have to be an artist yourself.
**3/9 is in person at St Stephen’s, 31 Main Street, East Haddam. Necessary art supplies will be provide. You are also welcome to bring your own.

“I don’t know how to…!  Help!” Helping someone plan their funeral and obituary is one of the greatest gifts you can give.  From hymns to scripture to burial or scattering ashes, this session will help you have an organized plan a family can follow.
