Meet Steven A. Fasano, a passionate church musician, conductor, and educator who has been making a positive impact in New England for years! With a warm heart and a collaborative spirit, Steven believes in the power of music to create meaningful and joyful worship experiences.

For over 20 years, Steven has dedicated himself to church music leadership in Connecticut, especially as a section leader and soloist at Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford. There, he played a key role in nurturing a lively and diverse music program – including working closely with the children’s choir and youth musicians to foster a lifelong love of sacred music. He has also taken on music director roles at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bristol and the United Methodist Church of Middletown. His love for sacred choral music shines through in his work with the Schola Cantorum at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford, where he performs both as a soloist and as part of an ensemble.

Steven’s educational background includes degrees from Westminster Choir College, the University of Connecticut, and Central Connecticut State University. As a veteran public school music educator with two decades of experience, Steven has spent his career inspiring young singers from kindergarten through the eighth grade, helping them find their unique voices and build confidence through performance. He is also on the faculty of the Yale Music and Schools Initiative in New Haven. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) at Central Connecticut State University, focusing on important topics like belonging, equity, minority stress, and inclusion in education.

Through his work as both an educator and a musician, Steven wholeheartedly believes in music’s incredible ability to build community, nourish spiritual life, and connect people.
